Near Jenesien lies, for example, the highest European larch high plateau – the Salten, where one can undertake dreamlike bike tours and hikes. Here you will also find the Urlärche, the oldest larch on the Salten, which has a diameter of about two meters. Very close by is also the Hartungen waterfall, which can be reached via the Ultner Höfeweg.
Through the Fragrant Forest
Equally recommended is a pleasure hike on the Swiss Pine Path in the Lüsner Valley, which starts at the Kalkofen snack station. From there, it goes along the Lasankenbach stream to the Unterpiscoialm or the Schatzerhütte. On the way back, the impressive Swiss pines invite you to marvel and linger.
Discover Old Mills
In Campill lies the famous Mill Valley, where the water power has been used for centuries to drive the water wheels of the mills. Today, you can admire the eight fully restored mills of the valley during a hike, which can also be used by the local farmers. The hike passes by the mountain farms of Seres and Miscì, where you can also visit the first mill you come across from the inside. Campill was also awarded as a certified "Climbing Village" a few years ago, which expresses that sustainable tourism plays a very significant role here.
Idyllic Waters
On the Fenner high plateau is the picturesque Fennberger Lake, which serves both as a swimming lake and a protected biotope. Countless different plant species thrive here, including 35 species of orchids that find a protected habitat. The picturesque lake can also be reached during a hike from Margreid, and a detour to the St. Leonhard chapel, which was built on a hill nearby, is also worthwhile.
Spectacular Panorama
You will experience a breathtaking view on a hike to the so-called Gsellwiesen, which are considered a insider tip for those seeking relaxation and nature lovers. The meadows lie on the slopes of two mountain peaks and are the ideal place to let your soul dangle. But don't forget to bring enough provisions, as there is no managed hut here.
On the Way on the Sentiero di Albrecht Dürer
From the Klösterle near St. Florian to the earth pyramids near Seganzano runs the famous Dürer Trail, which is a total of 40 kilometers long and can be covered in stages. As the name suggests, the painter Albrecht Dürer was also here and painted beautifully stunning watercolor pictures on his journey.
