The cows are then decorated and wear wreaths adorned with embroidery or sayings. The cattle drives usually take place from mid-September to mid-October and are often associated with festivals where culinary delicacies are served, traditional groups perform, and people can dance to live music. For example, the cattle drive on the Seiser Alm or the so-called "Schofschoad" in the Schnalstal are very well-known.
