Cross-country skiing in Eggental/Latemar
Near Bolzano lies the Val d'Ega, to which the imposing Dolomites also serve as a beautiful mountain backdrop. Above all, the Rosengarten peak (2,981m) and Latemar (2,842m) provide an alpine flair of a special kind.

Cross-country skiers and skaters have around 100km of well-prepared trails available in this region, which are considered absolutely snow-reliable throughout the season. The cross-country skiing center Lavazé is a starting point for many cross-country skiers. Here there are trails of various difficulty levels, all of which pass by the Latemar mountain range. The trails in Welschnofen-Karersee, in Deutschnofen, at Petersberg, in Tiers, and in Steinegg are also very popular with fans of Nordic sports.
