Welcome!Resia / Reschen in South Tyrol
The holiday region Reschenpass includes the villages Resia / Reschen, Curon and San Valentino. The Resia Pass is crossed by one of the oldest trade routes in Europe, which was expanded by the Romans around 40 AD to become the Via Claudia Augusta and the most important north-south connection in the Roman Empire.
The lake resia, which now significantly shapes the region, was created between 1948 and 1950. For this reservoir project, Resia and Curon were relocated ruthlessly. The original villages sank into the waters of the reservoir, only the 1355 built church tower of Curon still protrudes from the water, indicating where the village once stood. Today's Resia is located at an altitude of 1,500m, directly on the border with Austria. Here the Adige, the main river of South Tyrol, has its source.
Curon is now located on the eastern edge of the valley on the shore of the lake. A visit to the local museum is recommended, where you can familiarize yourself with the eventful history of the valley. The chapel of Saint Anna is also worth seeing because of the exterior frescoes and the Renaissance altar.

San Valentino is located between Reschensee and Haidersee. The village dates back to a hospice that was built here in the 12th century for travelers. The wonderful panorama of the Ortler massif, which opens up from San Valentino, is particularly impressive. In this holiday region, you will find ideal conditions: the villages have first-class hotels, and the range of leisure activities is enormous - whether it's a winter or summer vacation.
In the cold season, the Reschenpass ski paradise offers the beautiful ski areas of Schöneben, Haider Alm, Maseben, and Nauders (already in the Austrian part of Tyrol) for skiing and snowboarding. The surrounding mountains and valleys are also a true paradise for ski touring, winter and snowshoe hiking. There are 48km of cross-country ski trails in untouched nature, as well as two toboggan runs (including night operations). At the lake, you can of course ice skate, but also ice sail, and even the latest trend sports such as snow kiting are possible.
In summer, hiking and (mountain) biking are the main attractions, as well as climbing and wellness sports such as jogging and Nordic walking. At the lake, you can sail and surf, and kitesurfing is also popular; sports fishing, horseback riding, tennis, rafting, and paragliding complete the offering for your summer vacation.
Not to forget: the Reschenpass is a popular destination for motorcyclists, many fantastic mountain roads and alpine passes can be reached from here on day trips. Choose from the wide range of excellent hotels and guesthouses for your vacation. Whether it's a wellness, active, or pleasure vacation, you will definitely find the right offer and perfect service!
