Vacation in Kappl

The pointed church tower of the St. Antonius Church is visible from a distance, which was once built as a chapel and is said to be the namesake of Kappl. The village is located in the Tyrolean Paznaun between the Verwall Group and the Samnaun Group, and naturally offers the best conditions for a snowy holiday in winter.

From ski racing to Zipflbob

That's why the ski area above Kappl is a popular destination. On 40 well-prepared kilometers of slopes, there is a paradise for ambitious skiers as well as those who prefer a more leisurely pace. Ten lifts take you up to an altitude of up to 2,700 meters. The longest slope in the ski area is the so-called "Lattenabfahrt", where you descend 1,000 vertical meters, while on 8 kilometers of natural terrain, you can ski down into the valley. The slope is positioned so that it is bathed in the friendly glow of the sun all day long. In addition, a race track with a timing system and the "Funpark Alblitt", where the daring can practice their jumps and acrobatics, provide exciting thrills.

Kappl is particularly proud of its Zipflbob track – the world's first permanent track of its kind. The trend sport with mini bobs is becoming increasingly popular and is celebrated here on a 350-meter track.

For a more classic experience, there is a 6-kilometer long natural toboggan run, which is occasionally illuminated at night. And for those who prefer to follow in the footsteps of the Yeti, there are fantastic winter hiking trails for snowshoeing to find the necessary relaxation.

Fun for all ages in the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park

In summer, Kappl is all about the "Sunny Mountain Adventure Park". At an altitude of over 1,800 meters, young and old are offered all sorts of attractions: from tree houses, slides, and zip lines to witch houses, teepees, and a tubing track, as well as a petting zoo, an alpine herb garden, and a fishing pond. In addition, there is a fitness course where balance can be trained on suspension bridges and seesaws, and a Kneipp path for a healthy body.

The adjacent Dias themed hiking trail takes you into the world of the Paznaun, where you can learn more about the culture, nature, and traditions of the region. Children can also take part in a puzzle rally here. Kappl has numerous wonderful hiking routes through alpine meadows and valleys, where foxes, deer, and marmots bid each other "Good night". The Dias cable car also takes hikers to lofty heights, where the trail can be continued against the backdrop of the mountains. Nordic walkers also find the perfect terrain here to meet their daily sports quota.

A huge network of cycling routes makes Kappl a popular mountain bike area. Whether downhill or cross-country, or multi-day tours with overnight stays in one of the numerous mountain huts – the area is well-equipped for cycling. An increasingly popular trend in the Paznaun is e-biking. In addition to rentals, a well-developed network of battery exchange stations ensures that you always have enough energy.

For even more sporting fun, there is an outdoor tennis court set against an impressive natural backdrop and an impressive range of extreme sports such as canyoning and rafting. And if the excitement becomes too much, a retreat to the Trisanna is recommended, where fly fishing can be perfected on selected stretches.

Behavior in the High Mountains

High up, surrounded by a breathtaking mountain panorama, different rules apply than down in the valley. The weather turns faster, a planned tour sometimes requires more effort than expected, and a small misstep can sometimes necessitate an early return.
