Holiday in See in Paznaun

The municipality of See in Tyrol actually owes its name to a lake that used to be found where one now stands on solid valley floor. A rockfall caused the lake to disappear and revealed an idyllic valley. See has always had close connections to the neighboring villages of Serfaus and Fiss. It was founded by farmers from both villages and is considered the first village at the beginning of the Paznaun Valley. If Ischgl is too hectic for you, you will find peace and relaxation here.

A river often mentioned in the same breath as See is the Trisanna, which drains the Paznaun. With its over 35 kilometers in length and its rapids, it is an ideal starting point for a kayak tour.

Dizzying feats of architecture

More than 80 meters above the river, the Trisannabrücke stretches across the landscape. It is often seen as the most significant structure of the Arlberg Railway. With its 230 meters, it impressively spans the beginning of the Paznaun. The bridge was opened in 1884 as the longest-spanning railway bridge in Austria. Over the years, reinforcements had to be made and parts of the structure had to be replaced, which always caused a stir. But the breathtaking height still impresses today. By the way, Schloss Wiesberg watches over the valley at the eastern end of the bridge. It is now privately owned and houses valuable collections.

See is not only influenced by water because of its name. Numerous opportunities bring you closer to the cool water. For example, a hike along the Schallerbach delights the whole family with numerous waterfalls and also leads you to some quaint huts that revive tired bones with regional delicacies.

And the Outdoor Wellness Park Medrigalm offers a varied program at 1,800 meters altitude: Kneipp paths, aromatherapy, color therapy, and reflexology paths are among the attractions of this special holiday offer.

Fun and games in cool waters

The "Spiel-, Sport- und Wasserpark" in See is particularly popular with children. In addition to a bathing lake of 6,000 square meters and a children's pool of 1,000 square meters, a natural pond is also planned. The local sports offer is expanded by beach volleyball, soccer, and tennis. While the children have a great time with swings, seesaws, and climbing frames, the parents can relax in the sun on the sunbathing areas by the shore.

Numerous opportunities for exciting hiking tours make the holiday resort a paradise for hikers. Why not visit the Giggleralm or the Hexenkopf, the Furglerjoch or the old Paznauer Talstraße!

Even in winter, See is no less interesting. The Bergbahnen See open up a ski area that extends up to the Medrigkopf at over 2,400 meters. The children are perfectly taken care of in the kindergarten at the mountain station, while the parents can practice their turns on more than 30 kilometers of slopes. And if that's still not enough, you can show off your skills in snowshoeing or on a classic ski tour.

Where it says See, there's holiday enjoyment inside - in every season!
