Holiday in Fiss

On a sun-drenched terrace above the Upper Inn Valley, you will find the enchanting village of Fiss. The traditional stone houses in the town center still remind us of the Rhaeto-Romanic past. And not without reason - because in the past, the Roman road "Via Claudia Augusta", which connected southern Germany with northern Italy, passed through the village.

A ski area that knows hardly any bounds

For winter sports, Fiss has joined forces with the neighboring villages of Serfaus and Ladis to form a joint ski region, which provides fun for skiers and snowboarders with 70 lifts and 212 kilometers of slopes. Cross-country skiers are offered an additional 119 kilometers of prepared trails. And the action-packed activities range from the giant swing "Skyswing" to the "Fisser Flieger" - a dragon flyer on ropes that reaches speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour at heights of up to 47 meters. Just the thing for adrenaline junkies.

Another winter attraction is snow Segway trekking, for which a special course has been set up at the Fisser Kulturhaus.

As winter comes to an end, the people of Fiss showcase their traditional customs during the "Fisser Blochziehen" - a carnival tradition that is meant to drive away the cold season and is even recognized as intangible UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. During this event, a 35-meter-long stone pine log symbolizing a plow is pulled through the village on decorated sledges, preparing the fields for sowing. The procession is accompanied by a devil and several witches as assistants, who try to stop the log with scary masks and wild screams - as evil demons representing the bitter winter. But don't worry, summer always wins.

For little adventurers

And for those who are always hungry for winter, there is a very special attraction: snow in summer! The summer snow world on the Möseralm invites visitors to a heated snowball fight even in the warm season. In addition, a tubing track provides a polar feeling, even when the mercury climbs above 30 degrees. The snow world is part of the Fiss Summer Fun Park, which also boasts a diving tower. Brave souls can take the plunge from seven, ten, or 13 meters, only to be gently caught by huge air cushions.
