Holiday fun for the whole family

Holiday in Westendorf

Dreamy and somewhat secluded, the village of Westendorf is located on a sunny plateau, just a few kilometers from Kitzbühel. If you want to take it easy on your vacation or give your children a holiday experience in an idyllic setting, Westendorf is the perfect place. The municipality has 3500 inhabitants and spans an area from 800 meters above sea level up to 2444 meters above sea level. Here you will find many forests, meadows, and a few sleepy hamlets in between. Here and there, you will also come across small settlements - where magnificent farms have made themselves comfortable at the foot of the Choralpe. In Westendorf, untouched nature is truly at home. Therefore, the village is also ideal as a starting point for numerous outdoor activities. Whether hiking, mountain biking, mountaineering, or simply taking a leisurely walk - here you will find the perfect program for every vacation dream.

TIP: You should definitely not miss the various events in the municipality. Here you get an insight into the lived customs and traditional culture of the region. At the so-called Tyrolean evening, the Westendorf Schuhplattler group demonstrates their skills, while the "Westendorfer Buam" provides entertainment and performs traditional folk songs. Similarly entertaining is the Auner Alpenspektakel. At this musical festival, you can admire yodelers, Schuhplattler dancers, bell players, and alphorn players. If you want to buy some specialties from the region, you will find everything your heart desires at the weekly market day - from homemade delicacies to lovingly crafted handicrafts to high-proof spirits from the traditional distillery.

Paradise for children

The children's adventure world "Alpinolino Westendorf" offers so many attractions that the little ones can't stop marveling. The adventure area is located at 1770 meters above sea level on the grounds around the Talkaser. And there is a lot to discover here: the funny comic mountain guide "Schlauberger" accompanies young and old on nature trails and has many stories to tell from the world of local plants and animals. Those who believe they are already well informed can put their knowledge to the test on the "Animal Puzzle Tour" - where some clever puzzles are waiting to be solved by young amateur detectives. Of course, they can also ask their adult companions for advice, because a little support can be helpful with the tricky tasks.

Especially brave visitors to Alpinolino follow in the sure-footed footsteps of the ibexes and try their hand at climbing. Those who want to go really high, follow the example of the eagle Bert and visit him in his eyrie high up on the summit.

Hiking and well-being

The Wellness Trail Westendorf is a beautiful spot for all nature lovers and those who want to become one. The hiking trail is harmoniously nestled in the alpine landscape and leads through 5 stations, each of which is designed to appeal to all the elements. For example, at the "Wasserschlössl" and the "Water Labyrinth," everything revolves around the refreshing element of water, as the name suggests. The Wellness Trail starts near the valley station of the "Alpenrosenbahn" and teaches both young and old to consciously experience nature with all their senses.
