Vacation in Scheffau

The municipality of Scheffau has no more than 1500 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 742 meters in the so-called Sölllandl. The nature-loving village is a haven for city dwellers year after year, seeking peace and relaxation from the hectic pace of life. And where better to relax than in this setting? The unique mountain world of the Wilder Kaiser is practically on the doorstep, and there are also lush meadows and green alpine pastures as far as the eye can see. This was also indicated by the original name of the municipality, which means "slanted meadow" and stands for the numerous green areas that still exist around Scheffau today. The wealth of nature prevailing here is truly overwhelming. The 17 villages of the municipality are mostly located in idyllic positions on sunny slopes or in the midst of dreamy hamlets.

The concern that it might become "boring" is completely unfounded. In winter, the "Wilder Kaiser" ski area invites the whole family to enjoy the snow. You don't have to travel far for this, as the Scheffau mountain railways provide direct access to the popular winter arena. In summer, there are numerous events such as the "Summit Experience Tour" or the "Scheffau Village Evenings" that provide variety and entertainment. Tip: have breakfast in the mountains. In the warm season, you can start the day with a culinary highlight at 20 mountain huts. As part of the "Breakfast in the Mountains" campaign, they offer a rich breakfast of regional specialties. The fresh mountain air and the magnificent view make the first meal of the day something very special.

The Power Lies in the Water

Recreation and health are highly valued in Scheffau, which is why the village is the 1st "Kneipp for me®" experience village in Tyrol. Sebastian Kneipp, the founder of Kneipp therapy, was a pioneer in the field of alternative medicine. Water played a major role in his concept of healing, and even today, the Kneipp method is used as a complement to conventional medical therapies. In Scheffau, both "Kneipp" beginners and experienced "Kneippers" will get their money's worth. For example, there is a weekly program that includes joint Kneipp applications, hikes, or interesting lectures on the subject.

Here, they also think one step further: the philosophy that enables a healthy lifestyle and strengthens the body should continue to have an effect after the stay in the Kneipp village. Holidaymakers can do something for their health at 7 different Kneipp stations. The vein staircase helps to strengthen the legs, at the arm basin, you promote blood circulation, and the barefoot path ensures that you feel your steps more consciously. Finally, you can seek and find your inner balance at the meditation place.

Fairy Tale Adventures

Even the little ones have been taken care of in Scheffau. In the midst of the magnificent mountain world, KaiserWelt Scheffau is located. With the gondola, you can go up to lofty heights, where a magical world is just waiting to be discovered by little "royals." Here, there is everything that young adventurers' hearts desire: a climbing wall, tree houses, play equipment, and mysterious paths. The craft room is also colorful, where young artists can unleash their creativity.
