The road over the 1,894 meters high Hahntennjoch is one of the northernmost Alpine crossings. On just under 30 winding kilometers, and with one or another narrow spot, it connects the two towns of Imst in the Upper Inn Valley with Elmen in the Tyrolean Lechtal.

The road over the Kühtai Saddle, together with the Hahntennjoch, is one of the northernmost Alpine crossings. It connects the Tyrolean Ötztal with the Sellrain valley in the east.
