Skiing in the Zillertal Arena

166 km of slopes of all difficulty levels, 49 lifts and cable cars, snow park and halfpipe, free ski bus and 36 ski huts and snow bars guarantee pure winter fun. The Zillertal Arena is the union of the places Zell, Gerlos, Wald/Königsleiten and Krimml/Hochkrimml. The resulting ski area is not only a top holiday destination for adults, it is also a real children's paradise. Ski and snowboard schools with their own colorful fairy-tale landscapes for little ski dwarfs, a 7 km long illuminated natural toboggan run and the new Arena Coaster, the Zeller leisure park as well as children's discounts of over 50% on ski passes make the family vacation a guaranteed success.

In 2010/2011, the Zillertal Arena underwent a complete renewal. Four new gondola lifts, the new restaurant "Summit Meeting", a separate Kids-Line in the Hot Zone Snowpark and new features such as "SkiMovie", the personal ski video for every guest, are the main attractions of the 2010/2011 season. In total, more than 35 million euros were invested this year in the new, improved infrastructure, the largest investment volume in this millennium so far.

The most significant comfort improvement is probably the construction of the new Karspitzbahn II in Zell, an 8-person monocable gondola lift. Together with the existing Wiesenalmbahn, which is now called Karspitzbahn I, it overcomes 1,540 meters in altitude and takes guests to the middle of the ski area in just 12 minutes. In addition, the snowmaking facilities of the sports descent have been expanded, ensuring optimal piste conditions.

In Gerlos, the existing Falschbachbahn chairlift was also upgraded to an 8-person gondola lift with seat heating. A sensible investment, because gondola lifts are more wind-stable and especially safer for children. Also new are the Dorfbahn I + II in Königsleiten, also an 8-person monocable gondola lift with seat heating. In the new mountain station there is a guest kindergarten, a children's land and the aforementioned mountain restaurant "Summit Meeting". Overall, these four new gondola lifts therefore offer significantly more comfort, safety and efficiency. Nothing stands in the way of a fantastic skiing holiday in the Zillertal!
