On the other hand, Sölden offers optimal conditions not only for professionals, but also for amateur skiers.
Sölden Ski Resort
At the end of October, the world is turned upside down in Sölden. The women's giant slalom marks the start of the new World Cup season. Then the men also demonstrate their skills. But even away from the race tracks, there is a lot going on in the fall. The Rettenbachgletscher (2,675-3,250m) and the Tiefenbachgletscher (2,795-3,249m) are both developed for winter sports and can be skied on from October. 33 kilometers of slopes are waiting here for beginners and advanced skiers. Highlight: through a ski tunnel, which was built at 3,240m, winter sports enthusiasts can get from one glacier area to another.
Boundless Slope Fun
The ski area around Sölden is not only known for the World Cup hustle and bustle, but especially for excellent slope quality. Skiers have 150 kilometers of slopes at their disposal. These are divided into 59km of blue slopes, 51km of red slopes, 28km of black slopes and 2 km of ski routes. The slopes are always well groomed and are considered extremely snow-sure due to the high altitude and the proximity of the glaciers in the ski area. The season starts in Sölden in October and ends in May. If you want, the modern ski lifts will take you up to the so-called BIG3. These are 3 three-thousanders that can be reached by lift. These include the Gaislachkogl (3,058m), the Tiefenbachkogl (3,250m) and the Schwarze Schneide (3,340m).
Mountain Culinary Delights
Skiing is not only a lot of fun, it also makes you very hungry. More than 30 huts, which are easily accessible in the ski area, ensure the culinary well-being of their guests. Whether self-service restaurant or rustic mountain hut with service, there is something for every taste here. If you don't know them yet, you should try the real Tyrolean home cooking. Dumplings, Brettljause and Co. give new energy and make you really full.
Freeride World Sölden
For enthusiastic freeriders, Sölden offers a true paradise. It is about conquering more than 70km of off-piste and mastering descents with up to 2,000 meters of altitude difference. The Gaislachkogl (3,058m), the Rettenbachgletscher and the Tiefenbachgletscher invite you to a snowy world off the slopes. However, caution is advised with glacier crevasses, gullies, and particularly steep sections. Tip: Information on the current avalanche situation and snow conditions is available at the Freeride Center Sölden.
