SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental
The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental includes the member resorts of Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf. The merger of the individual villages has created Austria's largest contiguous ski area. 279 kilometers of slopes are waiting to be conquered by diligent skiers. Among them are 124km of easy slopes, 128km of medium slopes, and 27km of difficult slopes. Over 90 ski lifts ensure that all passengers are transported quickly to the respective mountain station, where a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and varied descents await. Those who want to explore the entire SkiWelt choose the so-called SkiWelt rounds: the Salven round, the Kaiser round, and the Westendorf round.
Need for speed
Especially sporty skiers have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. There are several race tracks in the ski area that can also be used for training purposes. Tip: those who want to know if they are doing well on skis should try the BMW Skimovie track in the SkiWelt Scheffau. The piste No. 66 on the south slope of Scheffau has a starting house, a slalom course, and a finish area. During the ride, not only the time is measured, but also filmed. The video of the personal descent can be downloaded and viewed directly on site.
Learning through play
In order for the little ones to learn to move safely in the snow, a "learning carousel" has been installed in the Scheffau ski school. Funny figures like the dragon or the snow hare have an opening at the back. Through this, toddlers can enter the interior of the figure, so to speak. When the carousel starts to turn, the children ride with the figures. Playfully, they make their first tracks in the snow.
Insider tip for freeriders and off-piste skiers
The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is considered a secret tip among enthusiastic freeriders and off-piste skiers. The "Moderer Abfahrt" in Scheffau is particularly popular, where physically strong skiers have to overcome more than 1,000 meters in altitude, and rides off the groomed slopes on the Hohen Salve. General rules of conduct and avalanche or weather warnings must be observed on every ride through unsecured terrain.
