Summer toboggan run - Alpine fun

Assling in East Tyrol is a beautiful vacation spot that offers plenty of space for relaxation and unwinding in nature. In addition to relaxation, fun and exercise should not be neglected during vacation – especially for children and families, variety is important.

The summer toboggan run Fun alpin, which opened in 2006, certainly offers a lot of fun and entertainment for young and old. Nestled in a uniquely beautiful natural landscape, you whizz down the valley with pleasure and cheer. The toboggan run is also located right next to the famous Assling Wildlife Park, so that these two attractions can be wonderfully combined.

The Assling summer toboggan run is a monorail toboggan run. The rollers of the toboggans grasp the round guide rail from above, from the sides and partly from below, so that derailing is practically impossible. The sleds are equipped with three braking devices each, so that every 'pilot' can control their speed individually. The maximum achievable speed is 40 km/h.

The toboggans and their pilots are transported uphill by a tow lift. With a bit of luck, you can observe deer and roe deer or other animals in the Assling Wildlife Park. From the mountain station, it goes straight down, the track to the valley is 360 m long, there are 10 curves to master, and the altitude difference is 80 m.

From the Bärenwirt inn at the valley station, you can see the entire toboggan run. Comfortably you can enjoy the delicious regional specialties offered at the Bärenwirt on the terrace, while watching the sleds whizzing down the mountain. Next to the inn there is also a huge playground where children can romp around until they are exhausted.

If you also visit the Assling Wildlife Park, you can observe a variety of native animal species in their natural environment. Red deer, ibex, chamois, wildcats, lynxes, raccoons, wild boars, birds of prey, marmots, and pot-bellied pigs – these and many more animals can be discovered in the wildlife park. A visit is always worthwhile.

For safety reasons, the Fun alpin toboggan run is only open in suitable weather conditions. However, since East Tyrol truly lies on the 'sunny side' and can boast the most sunny days in all of Austria, nothing stands in the way of unclouded tobogganing fun.
