Archaeological finds

Fließ is also known for its significant archaeological excavations, such as the Kathreinfund, which dates back to the Hallstatt period. Numerous metal objects such as vessels and jewelry were found at the so-called Kathreinhof in 1990. Some of these discoveries are also presented in the Fließ Museum. In one of the village's churches, you can also admire the remains of the oldest church in the region, dating back to the 6th century. Other finds include the remains of a house from the Bronze Age and a treasure trove from Moosbruckschrofen, also from the Bronze Age.

Diverse recreational activities

Since the village of Fließ is located in the Kaunergrat Nature Park, the opportunities for walks, hikes, and mountain tours are correspondingly good. A special experience is also the steppe slopes, where around 1500 different species of butterflies live. A remarkable natural monument is the Piller Moor, where around 150 mosses and flowering plants have been identified. Until the 1970s, peat was mined in the moors at Piller Sattel, today visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of wetlands on the nature trail. In addition, the Moorturm offers a fantastic panorama of the surroundings. Other popular destinations include the herb show garden and the cheese dairy, which can be found on the Gogles Alm. Also, pay a visit to the Bidenegg Castle, which can only be visited from the outside, but its hillside location is something quite extraordinary. In summer, the adventure pool offers a refreshing cool-down, and both adults and children can also try rafting, mountain biking, or horseback riding. In the cold season, winter sports enthusiasts are drawn to the small family ski area Venet, which has a total of 22 kilometers of well-groomed slopes.
