Just before reaching Sand in Taufers, one enters the Mühlwald Valley, which consists of three small villages, some sawmills and mills, as well as clear mountain streams. The element of water characterizes the entire valley. Here, for example, one finds the Mühlwald Lake, which is located very close to Mühlwald, as well as the Neves reservoir.

Varied Thematic Paths
The Mühlwald Valley is also known for its thematic paths such as the Mühlwald Almenweg, which leads hikers into the enchanting Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. One can immerse in the power of water on a circular hike around the Mühlwald reservoir and on the thematic path 'Water and Wheel' one can get to know the world of mills. A more challenging tour through the Lappach Gorge leads to the 'Magic of Water' museum. It is also worthwhile to walk around the Neves reservoir, which is idyllically situated at the foot of the glaciers.
Further Information
The tourist association also offers guided hikes, and the topic is presented at the 'Magic of Water' museum, which is located next to the church in the Widum in Lappach.
