Climbing in the beautiful Tyrolean region is a unique experience for all alpinists - whether beginners, advanced or professionals. Here, a total of 5,000 alpine and around 3,000 sport climbing routes are waiting to be conquered, making it a perfect area to get to know or perfect the world of walls and ropes.

In the 16 regions, there are naturally numerous impressive climbing areas, including the area of St. Anton am Arlberg, which offers diverse opportunities for all adrenaline junkies. Whether routes for beginners or dizzying rock walls, everyone will surely find their personal favorite here. One of the most beautiful tours is certainly the Arlberg via ferrata with a length of around three kilometers, a classic is the Schnanner Klamm, which offers numerous routes for both beginners and advanced climbers. But an absolute highlight are also the dreamlike three-thousanders in the Paznaun Valley, an area that can score especially with steep overhangs.

Imposing rocks for sport climbers

In Tyrol, it is also absolutely interesting for sport climbers, with around 3,000 routes of varying difficulty levels waiting in the heart of the Alps. For beginners, the Reithle climbing garden in Imst is particularly well suited, but the Starkenbach climbing garden, which is one of the largest climbing gardens in Tyrol, is also very popular. Those who like overhanging routes should visit the Hanger climbing garden in Ehrwald, very challenging routes - up to difficulty level 8c - are offered by the Niederthai climbing garden in the Ötztal. But even climbing enthusiast families will fully get their money's worth in Tyrol. Perfect for the first climbing attempts are the Mauritzalm climbing garden or the Oberried climbing garden, where countless easy and well-secured routes can be tried out.

Quality-tested climbing hotels

Many accommodations in Tyrol have specialized in mountain enthusiasts and not only offer rich sports breakfast buffets, but are also happy to pass on insider tips to climbers. The guests are well taken care of by the trained staff, who are perfectly attuned to individual needs. At special climbing info corners, the mountain enthusiasts receive information about tours, climbing routes or climbing gyms, as well as listings of climbing schools and sports stores in the immediate vicinity. Since the service staff also enjoys being in the mountains themselves, the areas are of course well known, which means that there is nothing standing in the way of a spectacular stay in beautiful Tyrol.
