Rudi Run Toboggan Track

Its geological composition makes the Plose, a mountain range in the Lüsner mountains near South Tyrol, a popular ski resort. Gentle hills and a stunning mountain panorama make an important contribution to this.

Glittering snow and numerous lifts do not necessarily mean that you have to limit yourself to skiing. Especially here on the Plose, those who prefer a classic toboggan to two waxed boards are also catered for. Children should always keep their eyes open, because it can quickly happen that a friendly reindeer crosses their path – this is "Rudi", the animal mascot of the toboggan run "Rudi Run".

Rudi Run consists of two separate toboggan tracks, which can also be ridden together. Together the two sections have a length of more than 10 kilometers with an altitude difference of almost 1,000 meters. It is also often referred to as the longest toboggan run in South Tyrol.

The starting point of the usually generously snow-covered track is the mountain station of the Trametsch lift. It is not possible to climb on foot. Here, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, the Rudi Run 1 leads with a little more than five kilometers towards the valley. The level of difficulty can be described as "technically simple" – just a cozy round for the whole family, which at the end can offer several opportunities to stop at a hut.

At the junction to the valley station of the Trametsch lift, the course merges into Rudi Run 2, which is technically a bit more challenging than its predecessor. Here you actually go down into the valley through some tricky passages – at the end of the track, the valley station of the Plose cable car awaits you.

From January to the end of March, Friday is dedicated to night-time tobogganing fun – then the track is open until 23:00. As part of the "Friday Night Fever", the huts also offer a special program that makes the fun even greater.

It gets more mystical during the full moon nights in January and February. Since the track has no lighting, you rely on the glow of the nocturnal celestial body but also on headlamps.

A toboggan rental at the valley station of the cable car provides latecomers with a sporty piste racer.
