Relaxed and healthy back to everyday life

Holiday in Naturno / Naturns

The 5500 souls community of Naturno Naturns is located very close to Merano, but is still its own little paradise. Here, relaxation and well-being are given top priority, which is why more and more holidaymakers are drawn to the friendly town, which is situated at a gentle 554 meters above sea level. In fact, it is not just a municipality, but a large holiday and recreational area. Naturno is nestled sleepily in the valley, while further small villages are settled on the hillsides to the left and right. The Sonnenberg and Nörderberg complete the picture perfectly and create a magnificent alpine backdrop.

Not only the surroundings, but also the pleasant temperatures favor numerous outdoor activities. Naturno boasts 315 sunny days per year and is one of the least rainy regions in South Tyrol. For plant lovers, this is a true paradise, as here you can discover many species that prefer to settle in more southern regions. For example, on the so-called Sonnenberg, lush cypresses and exotic palms have made themselves comfortable. They grow and thrive in sunny hillside locations and provide an exciting contrast to the alpine surroundings.

Balance for body and soul

The importance of having body and soul in harmony has long been understood in Naturno /  Naturns. It is therefore no coincidence that the municipality has the “Alpine Wellness” certification. However, this accolade must be earned. It stands for particularly favorable climatic conditions, untouched nature, and numerous professional facilities that ensure the fitness and health of their visitors. All of this can be found in Naturno / Naturns. Every year, there is a new “Alpine Wellness” weekly program that covers the areas of health, relaxation, and wellness.

Culinary enjoyment, for example, is promised by a bike tour through lush orchards or a visit to the organic farm with a tasting of the farm's own products. Active holidaymakers can enjoy water aerobics and Nordic walking, while children can experience exciting adventures with llama trekking and treasure hunts. The weekly market in Naturno and a visit to the adventure railway station provide the crowning conclusion to the varied holiday days.

For those with time to spare, a visit to the Texel Group Nature Park is a must. Here, 33,000 hectares of untouched nature and many animals await, to be admired in their natural environment. For their stay, top accommodations can be found here: hotels, holiday apartments, wellness hotels, hiking hotels, and guesthouses, all neatly sorted.

Visit with Reinhold Messner

The native South Tyrolean and passionate mountaineer is known for his daring expeditions and courageous border crossings all over the world. In summer, however, he likes to retreat to work on new ideas. As a summer residence, he has chosen the Juval Castle near Naturno / Naturns. Here, not only does the family have a second home, but also the Messner Mountain Museum. It is one of 5 museums in the museum chain of the same name and is open to visitors daily. Thematically, the museum is dedicated to the “Myth of the Mountain”. Reinhold Messner has created a unique world of experience at the Messner Mountain Museum. The museum houses impressive art collections, such as the Tibetica collection or a collection of artful, handmade masks. Visitors can reach Juval Castle via various hiking trails or take advantage of the shuttle bus.
