Holiday in Nalles / Nals

The fruit and wine village Nalles (German: Nals) is the southernmost municipality of the Burggrafenamt and is located in the Etschtal valley halfway between Bolzano and Merano. Due to its mild climate and the fantastic location at the foot of the Gaider mountain, it is an ideal holiday destination for those seeking relaxation, for sports enthusiasts, and for gourmets. Nalles / Nals marks the northern end of the South Tyrolean Wine Road and is known for its wineries and cellars. Viticulture has a long tradition here, and there is even a unique grape variety, the Heiligenpergl, which is only cultivated in Nalles / Nals. Fruit growing is also significant here, as in the entire region, making the landscape especially colorful and fragrant during the blossom and in autumn when the branches are heavy with ripe apples. Nalles / Nals is also called the "Rose Village," and a short walk in spring or summer makes it clear why: here, the "queen of flowers" blooms and thrives in incredible variety and splendor.

Noteworthy in Nalles / Nals are the parish church of St. Ulrich, the Romanesque St. Apollonia chapel, the Ansitz Stachelburg, the ruins of Kasatsch, and the Schwanburg, a picturesque castle where the oldest private winery in South Tyrol is located. Of course, the castle winery is open for tours and tastings. Perched on the rocks above the Schwanburg is Castle Payersberg, whose striking bergfried has become a symbol of Nalles / Nals.

In line with the trend of wellness and active sports, the leisure activities for your summer vacation are wonderful. Nalles / Nals is a wonderful starting point for walks and hikes. It is also directly connected to the South Tyrolean cycle path network, making it a paradise for cyclists. There are also numerous diverse routes for mountain bikers. The range of sports activities extends from tennis to beach volleyball, horseback riding, mini golf, table tennis, and billiards. In the surrounding area, there are opportunities for canoeing, rafting (also for children!), rock climbing, paragliding, and fishing. You can also play golf at the Golf Club Lana, just 8km away.
