Val d‘Ultimo / Alta Val di Non

The Ultental and the adjacent Deutschnonsberg is a holiday area as relaxation seekers would wish for: peace, sunny climate, and unspoiled nature characterize the region. Eight villages invite you to vacation and holidays: St. Pancras, St. Walburg, St. Nicholas, and St. Gertraud in the Ultental and - separated by a mountain ridge - Proveis, Laurein, St. Felix, and Our Lady in the Forest in Deutschnonsberg. The beauty of nature is particularly striking, as the landscape itself is a wellness oasis. Lakes, waterfalls, or the over 2000-year-old "Urlärchen", which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, are worthwhile destinations. Also worth seeing are the valley museum and the famous "Häuserl am Stein", which was the only building spared from the floods of a devastating flood in 1882.

By the way, the Ultental was already a popular summer resort during the time of the Danube monarchy. The bathing resort Mitterbad near St. Pancras was visited by famous personalities such as Empress Elisabeth of Austria, Bismarck, or the brothers Heinrich and Thomas Mann (the latter finished his "Buddenbrooks" here).

In summer, the Ultental and Deutschnonsberg are a fantastic hiking region. 700km of marked hiking trails lead to the alpine pastures and peaks of the surrounding mountains, to the Stelvio National Park, and to the Ortler Group. Themed trails - such as the "Dinosaur Trail" - and nature trails make hiking an exciting experience for everyone. Those who want to train their bodies in particular have the opportunity for Nordic walking. Mountain biking and cycling are also wonderful here, in addition to a swimming pool, modern sports facilities, horse riding, fishing, and numerous other active sports.

Even in winter, you can enjoy wonderful hiking here, winter and snowshoe hikers, as well as ski tourers, are in a small paradise. The beautiful Schwemmalm ski area attracts skiers and snowboarders. Here you can enjoy your ski vacation away from crowded slopes and crowds at the lifts. Varied cross-country ski trails, two toboggan runs, and three ice rinks complete the offer.

Treat yourself to your dream vacation in a hotel in Ultental/Deutschnonsberg. The hotels offer a dignified ambience and comfortable facilities. Spacious wellness areas ensure relaxation, pleasantly affordable prices and offers make the holidays affordable. Modern wellness hotels, design and gourmet hotels also meet the highest demands.
