Sun-drenched holiday destination

Vacation in Laces

The attractive holiday resort of Latsch in the Vinschgau has just over 5000 inhabitants. It is located 25km from Merano and extends from 620 meters above sea level to 3257 meters above sea level. The highest point is the so-called Hasenöhrl, which is partly still covered by glaciers. The juxtaposition of Mediterranean influences and alpine nature makes a stay in Latsch so interesting. Down in the valley, strong apple trees grow and thrive, transforming the surrounding area into a charming sea of blossoms in spring. The surrounding mountain ranges provide an impressive contrast. Sleepy settlements, small villages with beautiful chapels, and isolated mountain farms lie between the valley and the mountains. An idyllic holiday destination. The favorable climatic conditions also ensure carefree holiday days. Latsch is bordered to the south by the Ortler Alps and to the north by the Ötztal Alps. The protected location gives the village many hours of sunshine and remarkably low rainfall. Therefore, the region is particularly recommended for leisure activities of all kinds in spring, summer, and autumn.

Tracing

Latsch is not only a popular residential and holiday area today, it was also favored by numerous settlers many thousands of years ago. This is evidenced by a very special relic: the Latscher Figurenmenhir was found in 1992 during renovation work in a church. Its origin can be dated back to 3300 - 2200 BC. Menhirs are oversized stone monuments, on the surface of which engravings or elaborate drawings can still be seen today. The Latscher Figurenmenhir was made of local marble and is 107cm high, 77cm wide, and 12cm thick. It is assumed that such figure menhirs had a mystical meaning at that time; the stone itself contains many magical symbols and figures. Hobby archaeologists and those interested in culture can visit the Latscher Figurenmenhir as part of guided tours.

For those who want to search for traces of past times on their own, they should take walks and hikes near old paths. Here, with a little luck, you can find so-called cup stones. These depressions were carved into rock outcrops or other stones in the past and are still visible today. However, it is not known what these cup stones were used for.

Pure relaxation

For those who are looking for a little relaxation after an exciting journey of discovery, a visit to the AquaForum Latsch is recommended. In this spacious bathing world, you can let your soul dangle and your thoughts wander. The movement in the warm water has a positive effect on the circulation, and after a nap on the comfortable relaxation bed, you feel pleasantly "heavy". An exclusive sauna area is available for athletes and sauna enthusiasts. Whether it's a steam bath, Finnish sauna, or bio sauna - extensive sauna sessions are no longer a problem here.

Playful attractions in the cool water and a 50-meter-long slide with great lighting effects ensure that the little ones have fun. The AquaForum also houses the SportForum of Latsch. The popular athletics center is open to both professional athletes and recreational athletes. Here, all athletics disciplines can be practiced and trained, and there are also two "exercise trails," a basketball court, and a soccer field.
