Whether you prefer a sporty or leisurely approach, a visit to Taufers Castle is definitely worth some time. It is one of the largest and most beautiful castles in South Tyrol and was once inhabited by the Lords of Taufers. However, the highly esteemed noble family died out in 1340, and from that point on, the castle fell into disrepair. It was only in 1907 that it was renovated, and later it came into the possession of the South Tyrolean Castle Institute. Today, the venerable walls of the castle regularly host knight festivals, exhibitions, and events. After visiting the castle, those who want to cool off quickly can also take a detour to the Reiner Waterfalls, which plunge more than 50 meters into the depths.
