Wellness and Nature Paradise

Campo Tures / Sand in Taufers

Campo Tures, or Sand in Taufers in German, is located in the idyllic Tauferer Ahrntal in South Tyrol. Here, there are just over 5000 inhabitants who have made themselves at home in this cozy village, where the high valleys of Mühlwald and Rein converge. This coziness also benefits those tourists who are drawn to the nature-oriented village time and time again. Green as far as the eye can see, and as an added bonus, there are around 80 peaks over 3000 meters in the Ahrntal, with 38 of them even featuring a substantial glacier. Campo Tures / Sand in Taufers exudes alpine joy of life, and it is no wonder that this is also the hometown of the famous extreme mountaineer Hans Kammerlander. When surrounded by such an impressive mountain landscape, it's only a matter of time before one is drawn to the mountains. Due to its ideal location, Campo Tures / Sand in Taufers is also often used as a starting point for challenging mountain tours by mountaineers and climbers. It goes without saying that the area is also perfect for exploring by mountain bike. After a varied day in the fresh air, guests feel especially well taken care of by their considerate hosts. Whether in a family-run guesthouse, an elegant 4-star hotel, or even on a farm - everyone can find a place here where they can feel at home.

Unique Bathing Temple

An absolute highlight of the tranquil community is the Cascade Water World, which redefines the concept of wellness. Here, there is a bathing culture of a very special kind, and this fact has already been taken into account in the architectural implementation of the water world. The outdoor and indoor pools are gently intertwined with the surrounding landscape and almost seem to "float" in the midst of untouched nature. Speaking of nature: it is omnipresent in the Cascade. Expansive windows always provide a connection from inside to outside, so even when you're comfortably splashing around indoors, you don't miss anything that's happening outside. Especially in autumn, as the leaves gradually change color, it's a natural spectacle of a special kind that can be observed from the edge of the pool. In the hot summer months, a dip in the cool water of the adjacent natural swimming pond is a must. Active holidaymakers and athletes like to end a strenuous day in the Cascade and treat themselves to an individual pampering program in the spacious wellness area.

Nature and Culture

The holiday region around Campo Tures / Sand in Taufers offers a wonderful backdrop for all kinds of leisure activities. Whether you prefer a sporty or leisurely approach, a visit to Taufers Castle is definitely worth some time. It is one of the largest and most beautiful castles in South Tyrol and was once inhabited by the Lords of Taufers. However, the highly esteemed noble family died out in 1340, and from that point on, the castle fell into disrepair. It was only in 1907 that it was renovated, and later it came into the possession of the South Tyrolean Castle Institute. Today, the venerable walls of the castle regularly host knight festivals, exhibitions, and events. After visiting the castle, those who want to cool off quickly can also take a detour to the Reiner Waterfalls, which plunge more than 50 meters into the depths.
