Vacation in Valdaora / Olang

Just a few kilometers from Bruneck, the holiday resort Valdaora / Olang is located at just over 1,000m above sea level at the foot of the Kronplatz in the Puster Valley. Tourism has a long tradition here since the construction of the Puster Valley Railway in 1871, and since the establishment of the ski area on the Kronplatz in the 1960s, winter tourism has also been booming.

Gastronomy and hotel industry in Valdaora / Olang are at the highest level and offer everything your heart desires for your vacation. From cozy family hotels to wellness or design hotels: the ambience and facilities of the hotels are first-class, spacious wellness and spa areas ensure well-being and an unclouded holiday feeling. Hospitality and service are top priorities at the hotels in Valdaora / Olang. By the way, three times in the summer a special gastronomic festival takes place in Valdaora / Olang, the so-called "Standlschmaus". There are plenty of South Tyrolean specialties and delicacies, as well as diverse musical entertainment!

Today, the Kronplatz is one of the largest and most modern ski areas in South Tyrol. With currently 31 lifts and 105 kilometers of slopes, 2 fun parks and a halfpipe, the holiday fun for skiers and snowboarders is virtually limitless. The Puster Valley also offers countless opportunities for cross-country skiing, and in the nearby Antholzertal, biathlon can even be practiced (and learned).

Valdaora / Olang is also a world-famous center for luge sports, most recently the World Championships were held here in 2000 and the European Championships in natural track luge in 2008. In total, there are 7 toboggan runs in the area, the longest of which is in Oberolang at 7km. Of course, the forests and mountains around the holiday resort are also a fantastic area for winter hiking, snowshoeing, and ski touring. For those who love a challenge during their vacation, they can try snow rafting or ice climbing.

Olang in summer

Hiking is also at the center of the summer holiday. The nature here is particularly rich in beautiful places, such as Lake Prags or the mighty Dolomite peaks. Due to its location between the Fanes-Sennes-Prags and Rieserfernergruppe nature parks, as well as the proximity to the Sextner Dolomites nature park, Valdaora / Olang is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain tours as well as mountain biking.

Other leisure activities for your summer vacation include Nordic walking, indoor and outdoor climbing, a high ropes course, three golf courses, tennis, rafting, hydrospeed and canyoning, paragliding, fishing, horseback riding, fitness and wellness.
