Holiday in Marebbe

Anyone looking for an interesting mix of active holiday and relaxation is in the right place in Marebbe / Enneberg, the largest municipality in the Gadertal. The 1300-inhabitant town not only offers its visitors an idyllic landscape for top-class sports activities, but also the right places to relax. The municipality includes Enneberg Pfarre, Pederü, St. Vigil, Tamerstal, Welschellen and Zwischenwasser. Interesting for people fascinated by foreign languages: Almost all residents here speak Ladin, also known as the language of the Dolomites. This language has tradition, as it is a 2000-year-old, neo-Latin dialect that dates back to Roman times. There is also a lot to see architecturally: The small wooden houses create a very traditional, local atmosphere.

A rolling stone gathers no moss

No matter what time of year you travel to Marebb / Enneberg, there are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy. In the warm months, challenging or relaxing hikes with panoramic views are on offer. For those who prefer something more active, mountain biking may be the choice. In St. Vigil, cyclists have 250 kilometers of trails at their disposal. Mountaineering, climbing, or horseback riding, even fishing, are popular pastimes in the South Tyrolean municipality.

What holidaymakers do in winter in Marebbe / Enneberg is clear: skiing or snowboarding. But sledding is also very popular. The Kronplatz ski area offers everything a winter sports enthusiast could want. A tip for lovers: A horse-drawn sleigh ride through the enchanting snowy landscape is particularly romantic and unique. Hikers don't have to stop in winter either, as snowshoeing is very popular with tourists in the cold season.

In the town center, shops invite you to stroll and shop, and the baroque parish church is also worth seeing. In the center, you might even come across the Mölgg siblings, the famous skiers actually live here.

Rest is essential

After all, we go on vacation to relax. Marebbe / Enneberg is located in the famous Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park, which invites you to relax with its mountain lakes. It is recommended to stop in the cozy mountain huts. Here, you can look forward to traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, which you should definitely enjoy.

Wellness hotels provide absolute relaxation, where you can be pampered with various spa packages. For those who prefer something more rustic, staying in a family-run business or on a farm is an option. While massages are not on the agenda here, you can enjoy pure nature - the proximity to the farm animals is an experience, especially for children.
