The main town of the Puster Valley

Holiday in Brunico / Bruneck

Brunico / Bruneck is the main town of the Puster Valley and the fourth largest city in South Tyrol with around 15,000 inhabitants. With its excellent leisure and cultural offerings, Brunico / Bruneck is one of the top holiday destinations in the Alps.

Perched on the hill above the city, the episcopal castle dominates the skyline and will be the site of the fifth "Messner Mountain Museum" of the South Tyrolean mountaineer Reinhold Messner, which will open in the summer of 2010. The city is home to many churches, such as the parish church with a valuable crucifix by Michael Pacher, the Ursuline church, and the four gates of the medieval city wall. The charming old town of Brunico / Bruneck with its beautiful bourgeois houses and arcades invites you to stroll, shop, or linger in one of the cozy restaurants and cafes. First-class hotels can be found both in the city center and in the surrounding area.

The city offers a rich cultural program: The city museum presents an important collection of graphics, and the Museum of Ethnography - an open-air museum - vividly depicts the life and work of the people of the Puster Valley in the past. In the summer, the Alto Adige Jazz Festival and the Old Town Festival take place. A natural attraction of a special kind, and definitely worth a visit in every holiday, are the earth pyramids in Percha.

Winter holiday

The main attraction for winter holidays is the fantastic ski area at Kronplatz. State-of-the-art lifts, over 100 kilometers of slopes, and the largest snow park in South Tyrol offer unadulterated fun for skiing and snowboarding in this holiday paradise. There is also a direct connection to the ski area of Alta Badia. Brunico / Bruneck is also a wonderful cross-country skiing area, and in the nearby Antholzertal, there is even the opportunity for biathlon. You can go ice skating at the ice rink or on the natural ice rinks in St. Georgen and Reischach.

Summer holiday

In the summer holiday, of course, hiking and mountaineering are the focus. The possibilities for this - from the nearby local mountains to the nature parks Fanes-Sennes-Prags or Rieserfernergruppe - are endless. There is also a wide range of cycling paths and mountain bike routes for cycling enthusiasts in this paradise. Golf enthusiasts have one of the most beautiful golf courses in South Tyrol available at the Reischach sports park. Paragliding is possible in summer and winter, as well as Nordic walking, climbing, horseback riding, tennis, fishing, or rafting as part of the leisure activities. Cron4, the modern adventure pool, offers several swimming pools and an extensive wellness area.

Brunico / Bruneck spoils its guests with gastronomy and hotel services at an international top level. From the rich selection, you can choose from gourmet hotels, family, sports, or wellness hotels. The perfect service and typical South Tyrolean hospitality will undoubtedly make your holiday in Brunico / Bruneck an unforgettable experience!
