Vacation in Fiè allo Sciliar

The Schlern is one of the landmarks of South Tyrol. At the foot of the mighty mountain lies Fiè allo Sciliar / Völs. The municipality includes the villages of St. Konstantin, St. Anton, Völs, Ums, Aicha and St. Kathrein. The 3500-inhabitant town offers not only relaxing holidays, but also active holidays. For relaxation, for example, walks through the mountain landscape or traditional hay baths are offered here. In addition, visitors to the town can refresh themselves in the Völser Weiher. Those who want to be more active can take extensive hiking or cycling tours. The nearby Seiser Alm is highly recommended for trips into nature. In between, the rustic mountain huts invite you to take a break – here you can enjoy traditional South Tyrolean cuisine.

In winter, skiing is of course on the program. But snowboarding, tobogganing or ice skating are also popular leisure activities in the cold season. The Seiser Alm offers 60 kilometers of skiing fun for every level. Professionals can pursue their passion here, but beginners will also get their money's worth.

Sights and excursions

The beauty of the region was already discovered by the ancient Romans. They used the highest peak of the Schlern as a place of worship. Even today, Fiè allo Sciliar / Völs is a feast for the eyes. Sightseeing lovers should visit Prösels Castle, the ancestral castle of the lords of Fiè allo Sciliar / Völs. In addition, numerous churches and chapels are worth seeing, for example in St. Konstantin and St. Peter am Bühl. For a trip, Kastelruth is recommended, which is famous mainly for the folk music band "Die Kastelruther Spatzen". But Tiers am Rosengarten is also worth a detour.

Feasting in the mountains

Fiè allo Sciliar / Völs am Schlern pampers the palate with culinary theme weeks. The "Naturkost" weeks in June are dedicated to light and summery cuisine. The "Kuchkastl" event takes place in October: traditional dishes with a modern Mediterranean touch are on the menu here.
