Vacation in Leutasch

Many local novels can be attributed to Ludwig Ganghofer, a German writer who spent about 20 years of his life in the idyllic Leutasch. Some stories like "The Silence in the Forest" were created in his hunting lodge "Hubertus". The magnificent natural scenery of the Leutasch Valley provided the inspiration for this. This is a classic representative of the high valleys - valleys that are special because they are found at higher altitudes in the mountains.

The Leutasch Valley covers an area of 16 kilometers and was shaped by glacier movements that took place during the Ice Age. The Leutascher Ache - a tributary of the Isar that originates in the Tyrolean Gaistal and winds its way to Bavaria to finally flow into the Isar - runs right through the middle.

Fun on two wheels

Along the Leutasch Valley, there is a dreamy cycle path: On gravel paths, it goes up 400 meters to the Ehrwalder Alm. For less experienced cyclists, the "Ehrwalder Almbahn" with cabins for eight people is available, which takes you to the mountain station without effort. By the way, bicycles can be taken for free. Once you arrive at the top, mountain bikers have a wide range of tours to choose from, ranging from "easy" to "difficult". In addition, from the mountain station, a 10-minute walk takes you to the enchantingly beautiful "Ehrwalder Almsee", which guarantees snowmaking in the ski area in winter and provides quick cooling in summer.

In winter, the Ehrwalder Alm is all about skiing and cross-country skiing. Boarders can test their skills in the snow park, and night owls will lose their hearts to the adventurous night sledding.

Surrounded by several pages of mountains, the vacationer will find a climatic peculiarity here - the Leutasch Valley knows no heat waves, it is tolerably cold in winter, and the snow clouds coming from the Gaistal guarantee the best conditions for fun in the snow.

You will surely find a suitable hotel, accommodation, vacation rental, or guesthouse for your vacation in this region.
