Vacation in Fügen, Zillertal

Located at the entrance of the valley, Fügen is part of the "First Holiday Region in the Zillertal", which is visited annually by thousands of guests from all over the world.

Winter holiday

In the cold season, the ski areas Spieljoch and Hochfügen-Hochzillertal invite you to winter sports. 195 kilometers of slopes await adventure-hungry people. Those who can't get enough during the day can take a few more runs during night skiing. Teenagers and young at heart can demonstrate their skills in the halfpipe or fun park. Outdoor teachers are on hand in the ski schools and the little ones are lovingly looked after in the guest kindergarten. Suitable sports equipment can be rented in the ski rental. Cozy huts and attractive après-ski options await sociable people.

Free ski buses ensure that all guests arrive safely at their destination.

For those dedicated to Nordic skiing, there are 70 kilometers of cross-country ski trails waiting. In addition, there are great opportunities for winter or snowshoe hiking, ice skating, and romantic sleigh rides.

Hiking and cycling in the summer vacation

In summer, mountain lovers find optimal conditions for their favorite sports. The surrounding mountain world offers attractive hiking and mountain biking routes. Not less than 1,000 kilometers of hiking trails and 800 kilometers of mountain bike trails are available. Guided tours of all difficulty levels are also offered on site.

Regular hiking buses operate between Hochfügen and the Zillertal High Road, as well as between Gattererberg and Stummerberg.

Recreational cyclists can rent an e-bike on site and comfortably explore the landscape.

Spieljoch adventure world

The Spieljoch lifts are also in operation in summer and take hikers to the best starting points for their tours. On numerous routes, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Karwendel Mountains, Lake Achensee, and the Wilder Kaiser. A special experience is the barefoot path from the Spieljoch mountain station to the summit at 1,920 meters above sea level.

From Spieljoch, paragliders can start their flights over the vast landscape of the front Zillertal.

Families with children can enjoy the play park at the Spieljoch lift mountain station, the family and adventure climbing garden, the playground at the Arzjoch reservoir, and numerous events.

After a short hike from the mountain station (approx. 45 minutes walking time), you can look back on the history of mining in the Zillertal in the show mine.

Other activities

In the adventure pools and bathing lakes, you can cool off and have fun in the refreshing water.

Brand new is the Zillertal Adventure Park in Kaltenbach, which offers a natural high ropes course with several courses, a via ferrata over a waterfall, flying fox, and much more.

The region offers 115 kilometers of marked trails for Nordic walkers and runners.

In addition, you can visit the Fügen local museum or the Königsleiten observatory, or take a trip through the valley with the steam train.
