If you are in the mood for a top-class mountain tour, the glacier high tour to Haagspitze at an altitude of 3,029m is highly recommended. The cozy Jamtalhütte (2,165m) in the Silvretta forms the starting point of the tour. The ascent is via the so-called Totenfeld along the "Totenköpfe". These are pieces of rock that bear their name due to their frightening, naturally formed shape.
This is followed by the entry into the glacier, which should never be attempted without the appropriate equipment and experience. The path leads closely along steep rock faces up to the summit of Haagspitze. In winter, this route is also very popular with ski tourers.
