Cross-country skiing in Ridnaun and Racines

When cross-country skiing, the whole body is evenly trained, and the risk of injury is much lower. For many years, Ratschings and Ridnaun have been catering to the trend of cross-country sports and have earned an excellent reputation far beyond the borders of South Tyrol.

Numerous trails - a total of 60 km - lead through the fantastically beautiful landscape, and sports shops and cross-country ski schools offer every service that cross-country skiers could wish for. Qualified trainers are available for learning and perfecting the technique, and medical care is also provided.

A major advantage is the snow reliability, Ridnaun is located at an altitude of around 1,340 m, so natural snow is guaranteed. Of course, the trails are always excellently prepared, offering kilometers of cross-country skiing pleasure for beginners and professionals alike.

The 12 km long Ratschingstal valley trail and the 16 km long Panorama-Höhenloipe Platschjoch are both classic tracks, rated as easy to moderate. Also relatively easy and classic is the Gasteig-Stange-Mareit circular trail, which covers 12 km through beautiful and varied terrain. The Ridnauntal circular trail is 25 km long in the scenic and sunny upper part of the Ridnaun valley. Circuits of 3 to 25 km in length and from easy to difficult are possible. In addition to the two classic tracks, there is also a skating track, and the course also includes a very challenging racing track.

In recent years, Ridnaun has also established itself as a biathlon center. Several international competitions are held here annually, and a magnificent stadium has been built. Beginners and those interested in biathlon can also "sniff" into the sport and, under the guidance of a qualified trainer, can make their first attempts on the trail and at the shooting range.
