A demanding ski tour through the Ötztal Alps. In addition, you enter prominent territory that has made history. Because none other than Ötzi, the somewhat stiff man from the Hauslabjoch, was found here in 1991 as a glacier mummy in the ice. However, pay attention to the avalanche warning service, as the area here is relatively prone to avalanches.
It starts in the idyllic mountaineering village of Vent in the Ötztal - there you can park your car at the valley station of the mountain railways.
The further path leads along the ski slope towards Niedertal to the shepherd's hut, which is located at an altitude of 2,230 meters. From here, the summer path with relatively steep slopes leads to the next resting opportunity - the Martin Busch hut (2,501 meters altitude). If you like, you can set up camp here right away and postpone the rest of the tour until the next day.
Whichever way you decide, the further path leads in a southwesterly direction to the Niederjochferner. And as luck would have it, you will already find the next refreshment stop in the form of the Similaun hut.
If you now keep to the right and tackle the incline, you will arrive at Tisenjoch and finally at Hauslabjoch. And on this very route, the glacier mummy Ötzi once again saw the light of day. Continue southwest until the northeast ridge of the Fineilspitze opens up in front of you. Here you can take off and deposit your skis, because it is advised to go on foot for the further path. Here you have to rely on your advanced climbing skills and use them specifically.
The last steps lead you over a narrow firn edge. Be very careful here, because due to the exposed location, snow cornices can be very prevalent. When you finally have the summit cross (with summit book) in front of you, the mountain thanks you with an unforgettable view of the Ötztal Alps.
For the descent, choose the same way you came.
