The 2.5 kilometers long track is groomed twice a day, snowed if necessary, and is therefore always in good condition.
In the 8-person gondola with the adorably named “Ochsenweide”, you go up to the Ortnerhöhe, where the starting signal for the family tobogganing adventure is given. 280 meters of altitude difference have to be conquered before reaching the goal in the form of the Epirchner-Laner-Alm, where some refreshment opportunities await the hungry and thirsty winter sports enthusiasts. Whether dumplings, doughnuts, bacon, or cheese, the regional selection is really impressive … and especially consumable.
Three times a week, namely on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, the floodlights are turned on from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and tobogganing through the winter night takes place. About 60 street lamps along the track ensure sufficient visibility. By the way, holders of multi-day, weekly, or season tickets don't have to pay anything extra for this, as the ride through the illuminated darkness is already included in that case.
Remarkable events have already taken place here – such as a successful world record attempt in January 2015, which involved a snake and hundreds of sleds. The longest toboggan train ever consisted of 240 toboggans, which together could even cover a distance of 68 meters.
