Through the snow, which was piled up accordingly at the edge of the track, safety is also ensured. The difficulty level is indicated as "easy". A modern mountain railway, the Diasbahn, helps you with the ascent. However, if you want to cover the distance on your own, no one will put obstacles in your way. In this case, plan for about 1.5 hours for the ascent.
Whichever you choose, the starting point is the same in both cases: the mountain station of the Diasbahn. Here we are at over 1,800 meters above sea level.
The Sunny Mountain Restaurant, just a few steps from the lift, offers you space to refuel. Not only regional specialties such as the famous Tyrolean Gröstl, but also international cuisine, pizza, and fondue ensure delicious satisfaction. Warm up with a hot drink – maybe with a juicy apple strudel to go with it. With 400 seats and its own sun terrace, the restaurant is ready for any rush.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, it's sledding into the night. Then the lift operates from 19:00 to 21:00, while the track is open until 24:00. In the romantic light of the moon, you whiz down the nocturnal slope into the valley – always with the idyllically lit Kappl in view.
You can find a sled rental at the Diasbahn or in front. Of course, you can rely on one of the numerous sports shops in Kappl.
To facilitate holiday planning, the region offers special sledding packages – including rental and meals at the restaurant. So you can focus on what's essential – having fun.
