The Elfer toboggan run is always in the mix when it comes to the title of the longest natural toboggan run in Tyrol. However, it can be said that it is the longest illuminated, snow-covered, and groomed toboggan run in the Stubai Valley.
The Elfer panorama gondola takes you from the parking lot to the mountain station in 7 minutes. Experienced hikers can cover the footpath in 2.5 hours. At an altitude of 1,800 meters, the toboggan run, which is open daily, is prepared every day and overcomes an altitude difference of 800 meters.
The peak of the Elfer can actually be used for time measurement. When the sun is exactly above the 2,505-meter-high peak, the hands of the clock point to 11:00 a.m.
The railway is suitable for children and even allows for night-time tobogganing fun. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening, the floodlights are turned on. While the gondola operates until 9:00 p.m., the track is illuminated until 1:00 a.m. in the morning.
Another toboggan run leads from the Elfer into the Pinnistal – also at night. The atmosphere here is even more romantic because the route is illuminated by the flickering light of oil lamps (until 10:00 p.m.). Especially in the forest, this creates a unique, unforgettable atmosphere.
A third track leads over to the Pinnisalm, where a fun toboggan safari awaits you. For this, the innkeeper of the Pinnisalm pulls you on your toboggans through the snow with a Jeep.
