Access to the hut: The ascent to the Lenkjöchlhütte is via Kasern through the Röttal.
Tour description: Starting from the Lenkjöchlhütte, the route first leads southeast down to an idyllic small mountain lake, before following a rocky ridge that rises directly to the Lower Rötspitze. Along this ridge, you reach the Rötkees glacier field. Depending on the current conditions, it is recommended to use rope safety to cross the glacier, which rises with a maximum incline of about 30° to the Lower Rötspitze (3289 m).
Continue southward over the summit of the Lower Rötspitze, covered with fine scree, descending slightly and then eastward along a narrow, elongated firn ridge to the first steep ascent. Here you climb up between large boulders (with safety rings and hooks for climbing passages with a difficulty level of I to II), cross another firn edge up to a crevasse before the next rise.
After a few meters over a steep firn field, the ascent continues over rough boulder terrain, in easy climbing along the ridge, until the last meters to the summit only rise moderately and can be managed without major difficulties.
