630 meters of altitude / 4h
The picturesque village of Pertisau is located at the Achensee, whose alpine pastures extend directly into the mountains.
We start our snowshoe tour at the (chargeable) parking lot "Karwendeltäler". From here, first follow the road westwards towards Pletzachtal for about 15 minutes. Soon a large information board comes into view, which is hard to miss. At this altitude, a signposted summer trail now branches off to the left into the forest. The following ascent is not too extreme - it is already the eastern flank of the Feilkopf that you are now ascending.
After some time, you will come across a forest road, where you keep to the right and finally reach the track of a toboggan run. Follow the ascending course of the run and soon you will have reached the rustic Feilalm.
During the winter, the Feilalm is open daily and offers enough choices from cheese dumplings to Kaiserschmarrn to Brettljause to satisfy your hunger.
The warm fireplace room provides a traditional and rustic atmosphere.
The further path leads behind the alpine pasture in a right-hand bend to the southern flank of the Feilkopf, where a signpost with the inscription "Gütenbergalm-Feilkopf" indicates the direction. On a gently ascending path, it now goes over the mountain ridge to the summit. The path to the final destination already allows you wonderful panoramic views of Pertisau and the Achensee, which is especially charming when it is hidden under a winter layer of ice.
For the way back, choose the same route as for the ascent.
In about 4 hours, the approximately 630 meters of altitude of this moderate hike can be managed. However, pay close attention to avalanche warnings - the Feilalm informs on their website about potential dangers.
