Kronplatz

The Kronplatz is not only well known for its ski tourism, but also constantly strives to promote winter tourism as a whole. In recent years, numerous winter hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, and toboggan runs have been created here, another attraction is the Concordia 2000 Peace Bell. In addition, unique events take place at Kronplatz, including concerts by national and international stars, the Ferrari FF International Media Test Drive or the Giro d´Italia. Another highlight is now the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, a project realized by Reinhold Messner and Zaha Hadid.

The traditional alpinism that plays a significant role in Reinhold Messner's life is at the center of the museum. It is about the history of alpinism, the spectacular walls of the Dolomites and Alps, as well as the development of modern mountaineering. From the magnificent South Tyrolean viewing platform, you can enjoy the view of the Lienz Dolomites, the Ortler, the Marmolada, or the Zillertal Alps. In the museum, visitors immerse themselves in the world of Reinhold Messner's childhood, and he also tells how mountaineering has improved over the last 250 years. You experience his tragedies and triumphs on famous mountains such as K2, Cerro Torre, or the Matterhorn, and gain insight into alpinism through artworks, sentences, or relics. It is a place of silence and deceleration, an experiential space and a part of culture.

Fancy Event Location

Furthermore, there is also the possibility to rent the museum for a birthday party, a concert, a conference, or a wedding and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the building. Something very special are also the exclusively offered evening museum tours, with which you can surprise your guests.
