The beautiful mountain panorama

The village is surrounded by the mountains Raschötz, Seceda and Mont Seuc, which create a magnificent panorama for Ortisei / St. Ulrich. The first thing on the agenda should be a hike through the Dolomites. The surroundings are perfect for relaxed but also challenging tours through the landscape. Those who want to explore the mountains on their own will find various marked hiking trails – but there is also the possibility to participate in guided tours. The ascent to the Dolomites does not have to be done on foot, as modern lifts take visitors to the most beautiful viewpoints.

The mountains can also be explored by bike: Well-developed mountain bike trails allow for extensive tours with magnificent views.

In winter, the Dolomites turn into a skiing paradise: Whether cross-country or downhill skiing – every winter sports enthusiast will find something to suit their needs. There are also toboggan runs available for both adults and children.

The idyllic village center

Not only are there many things to discover in the mountains, but the village itself is also very worth seeing. The core of Ortisei /St. Ulrich is picturesque: Here you will find beautiful buildings, numerous restaurants, and shopping opportunities. The municipality is famous for its woodcarving – known throughout the world. This craft tradition dates back to the 17th century, when the inhabitants used the cold season to express themselves artistically. Today, genuine works of art are created from wood in Ortisei / St. Ulrich. Such a piece is certainly a great souvenir for loved ones back home.

The village can boast famous citizens: The actor Luis Trenker, musician Giorgio Moroder, and the winter sports athletes Isolde and Caroline Kostner all have their roots in Ortisei / St. Ulrich.

There are various options for accommodation in the holiday resort: Those who prefer to stay centrally should choose a hotel at the Kirchplatz. Further out, there are cozy farms that offer a quieter alternative. So there is a suitable place for everyone to stay.
