San Pietro a Laion / St. Peter bei Lajen

Laion (or Lajen) with the St. Peter fraction is located at the entrance of the Gröden Valley between vineyards and alpine meadows. Laion offers especially fantastic hiking opportunities for your holidays all year round, as well as a lot of history and culture. The settlement of Laion can be traced back to the Stone Age, numerous churches attest to a building history dating back to the Middle Ages, and above all, the Trostburg, one of the most beautiful castle complexes in South Tyrol, watches over everything. Last but not least, Laion is also considered the birthplace of the minnesinger Walther von der Vogelweide, the alleged birthplace, the Vogelweiderhof, can be visited.
