Hiking fun and winter sports
In summer, the mountains are a true hiking paradise. The landscape is also suitable for mountaineering, climbing, Nordic walking or mountain biking. The Seiser Umlaufbahn takes tourists to the most beautiful starting points. In total, there are 300 kilometers of hiking trails available. You should also take a walk through the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. The oldest nature park in South Tyrol is home to the Völser Weiher, a small lake.
An unforgettable high-altitude flight can be experienced while paragliding - from above, there is a particularly beautiful view of the mountains. One of the most famous mountain ranges is the Langkofel group, which borders the Seiser Alm to the southeast.
In the cold months, winter sports fans have numerous slopes available on the Seiser Alm, the highest of which is at 2300 meters. There are many easy slopes, making the ski area suitable for families with children. In the Ski Funpark-Kids Animation, there is winter fun especially for the little ones. In addition, cross-country skiers can ski 70 kilometers of trails, and tobogganers or snowshoe hikers can find the right terrain to pursue their hobby. The King Laurin Snowpark is interesting for snowboarders. Acrobats can demonstrate their talent on halfpipes, for example. Classic South Tyrolean dishes are served in the rustic ski huts. So be sure to take a break here.
Home of folk music
The most famous villages in the Schlerngebiet are Kastelruth and Völs. The former is especially known for its folk music band "Die Kastelruther Spatzen". They give concerts here several times a year and inspire locals as well as tourists.
The holiday region offers various accommodation options: Numerous hotels, whether simple or with wellness offers, guesthouses, apartments, holiday homes or rooms on the farm are some examples - here, everyone will surely find the right place to stay.
