Tires al Catinaccio / Tiers am Rosengarten

In South Tyrol there are countless beautiful holiday destinations for eventful and relaxing vacations. One of them is certainly Tires al Catinaccio / Tiers am Rosengarten. The village is located in an idyllic mountain landscape in the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. This invites you to relaxed walks and extensive hikes, which you can do either guided or on your own. In any case, a trip to the beautiful nature should be at the top of the list. Recommended is a tour through the Tschamin Valley from St. Zyprian to the Rechten Leger, an alpine meadow with a wonderful view. A hiking highlight is of course King Laurin's Rosengarten. The eight-kilometer-long mountain massif does not get its name, as one might assume, from the rose - it probably goes back to the expression "ruza", which means something like scree slope. In suitable weather conditions, the Rosengarten transforms into a fiery red spectacle in the evening, which is a sight to behold not only for romantics.

In summer, in addition to hikes, mountain bike tours through the mountains are also popular. Nordic walking is also very popular in the nature park. For those who are not yet tired of sports, there is also the option to go golfing, horseback riding, or swimming.

40 kilometers of skiing pleasure in winter

In winter, there are also some additional sports: skiing, ice skating, sledding, or snowboarding are the most popular leisure activities in the cold months. The Dolomites are a true winter sports paradise and offer the right slope for every skill level. With the ski bus, you can reach the Skiarena Karersee, which is about 8 kilometers away and offers 40 kilometers of fun on the slopes.

The historic Prösels Castle

A visit to Prösels Castle near Völs is recommended - interesting events are also regularly held here: from concerts, exhibitions, to theater performances. The origins of the castle date back to the Middle Ages, and the building was officially mentioned for the first time in a document in 1279.
In and around Tires al Catinaccio / Tiers am Rosengarten, vacationers have various options for accommodation: hotels, apartments, holiday homes, and farms are available. The icing on the cake is of course a room with a view of the Rosengarten.
