The picturesque little village of Meltina / Mölten is located on the southern edge of the Salten plateau on the Tschögglberg, a ridge above the Etschtal between Bolzano and Merano. Families with children and guests who want to spend their holidays away from the hustle and bustle appreciate the charm of the holiday village.

Summer Vacation
The idyllic cultural landscape of the Salten and the surrounding mountains invite holidaymakers to hike, ride, mountain bike, and relax in the warm season. The alpine pastures, ponds, mountain lakes, and forests offer something for every taste.
Numerous marked hiking and walking trails offer a wide range of easy to difficult tours. Tours to the Vöraner Alm, the Möltner Kaser or to the Tschaufenhaus are just as worthwhile as circular walks from Schlaneid via St. Ulrich back to Schlaneid or from Meltina / Mölten via Verschneid and St. Georgen back to Meltina / Mölten.
A hike to the picturesque farms above the village is also recommended.
The "Steinerne Mandeln", a collection of stone piles surrounded by old legends, are particularly exciting for families with children. Here you can build your own "Mandl", or stone pile, or continue to build on the existing formations.
For children, the "Sagenwanderweg" from the Schermoos car park to the Gasthaus Edelweiß, where you encounter twelve legends, is an exciting experience. The places Jenesien, Vöran and Hafling are easily accessible by bus, and the local cable cars can also be used to reach the optimal starting points for hikes and walks without a car. The region is also wonderful for mountain biking. Beautiful routes lead, for example, across the Salten high plateau, to the Vöranerjoch or to Sarnthein.
Horse enthusiasts will find wonderful opportunities in Jenesien to explore the surroundings on horseback.
Winter Vacation
At the Möltner Joch, guests will find the best conditions for tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking. Toboggan hikes can be undertaken, for example, from the Ötzgatter car park or from the Gasthaus Lanzenschuster to the Möltner Kaser. In the Verschneid district, there is a prepared natural toboggan run. Winter hikes to the Gschnofer Stall or to the Möltner Kaser or snowshoe hikes through the surroundings are very popular. Snowshoes can be rented from the tourist association or at the Gasthof Roderer. The cross-country ski trail at the Möltner Joch is about ten kilometers long and not too difficult to walk.
In the town center, there is an ice rink that is open several times a week in the early evening. Those dedicated to alpine skiing will find a number of ski areas in the area, such as Meran 2000 in Hafling, which is also accessible by the Tschögglberg bus, or Sulden am Ortler, the Stilfserjoch, Schnalstal, etc.
Sights
The churches of the region are definitely worth a visit for culture enthusiasts, especially the Möltner parish church Maria Himmelfahrt with its late Gothic high altar. The Romanesque St. Anna Church has a valuable Pietà. Also worth seeing are the baroque fresco "Vom Gastmal des reichen Prassers" of the St. Blasius Church in Verschneid and the Valentinskirchlein, located near the exposed ruins of the old Valentinskirche in the "Valteswald" near Schlaneid.
In the fossil museum, you can immerse yourself in the world of long-extinct animal and plant species and admire plant fossils found at the Möltner Joch and other places in South Tyrol.
