At the provincial border between South Tyrol and Trentino is the idyllic village of Aldino / Aldein. The village is located at an altitude of 1200 to 1500 meters and has about 1600 inhabitants. The municipality is not large, but includes the villages of Radein and Holen. Aldino / Aldein is surrounded by a beautiful forest and meadow landscape, making it particularly inviting for nature walks.
But the holiday village also has plenty to offer for more active vacationers: The Aldein Alm is perfect for hiking. Visitors have a total of 150 kilometers of marked hiking trails at their disposal, which lead, for example, to the Schwarz- and Weißhorn. Of course, the mountain landscape can also be explored by mountain bike. For more sports, there is the 18-hole golf course in Petersberg, where visitors can work on their handicap in a picturesque setting.

Visiting the small 'Grand Canyon'
The Bletterbach Gorge, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is very worth seeing: The small "Grand Canyon," as it is also called, provides insight into the formation of the earth. The different phases of the earth's development can be recognized in the rock layers. For further interest, the geological museum is worth a visit. History fans will also get their money's worth at the village museum, where they can admire sacred objects from the Baroque and Rococo periods.
Buildings worth seeing
In addition to historical excursions into long past times, the village naturally has other sights to offer. During a sightseeing tour, the various churches and chapels should definitely be on the list. Recommended are the St. Jakobus Church in Aldino / Aldein, the Gothic church St. Wolfgang in Radein, and the Maria Schnee Chapel in the valley. The pilgrimage site Maria Weißenstein is very famous and attracts numerous pilgrims every year.
Like most villages in South Tyrol, Aldino / Aldein also offers plenty of skiing pleasure in winter. Above the municipality is the Jochgrimm Alpine Pass, a small but well-kept ski area for holidaymakers who want to ski far away from mass tourism. The slopes are located between the peaks of the Schwarz- and Weißhorn.
For vacationers, there are various accommodation options available in Aldino / Aldein and the surrounding area. Mountain hotels or inns are suitable for all-inclusive vacations. Those who prefer to take care of themselves are best accommodated in a holiday apartment.
