Therme Meran: Complete Well-Being

In the traditional spa town of Merano, where famous personalities such as Franz Kafka, Richard Strauss, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Empress Sissi visited during the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the construction of the new thermal baths has created not only another attraction, but also an architectural masterpiece.

A transparent, light, and elegant cube made of glass and steel is the centerpiece of the thermal complex, which also serves as a symbol of the diversity of South Tyrol. Here, alpine landscapes and Mediterranean influences are reflected in an oasis of well-being. The interior spaces were designed by the Milanese star architect Matteo Thun, combining puristic design with harmonious warmth and coziness. For Matteo Thun, the Merano thermal baths are unique in all of Europe: "Nowhere else is there such a natural oasis in the center of the city."

With a total of 25 pools - 13 indoor and 12 outdoor pools - the Merano thermal baths offer a wealth of ever-changing bathing experiences. A 1250m² sauna world with a Finnish sauna, three steam baths, aroma bath, and sanarium ensures well-being and cleansing relaxation. In addition to the cold water pools, there is a special attraction, the snow room, where snow falling from the ceiling conveys the feeling of a magnificent South Tyrolean winter landscape.

The Spa & Vital area covers around 1,400m², where you can indulge in massages, shiatsu, whirlpool baths, hay baths, and various beauty and cosmetic treatments using predominantly South Tyrolean natural products. The fitness area also offers a wide range of classes from Pilates to aqua aerobics to bodyfit. A team of sports scientists, trainers, and therapists provides competent and reliable advice and support.

The Medical Spa area, the actual "classic" spa treatments, also has a long tradition in Merano. The offerings range from thermal treatments to physiotherapy, mud packs, and nutritional counseling to sports medicine. Your health is in the very best hands with the experienced medical team at the Merano thermal baths.

The bistro in the thermal baths is always worth a visit, where you can indulge in culinary delights with a clear conscience. The dishes served here are light and healthy, with ingredients sourced from South Tyrol's nature.

The extensive 51,000m² park was newly opened in May 2010. The impressive thermal park includes the large sports pool, a children's pool, a non-swimmer pool, a Kneipp pool, and a water course. There are also additional attractions such as the waterfall, rock geysers, or the underground steam bath. All of this is surrounded by sports and sunbathing areas and partly by centuries-old trees, fragrant rose gardens, cypresses, and exotic plants such as string or tulip trees, which thrive splendidly here thanks to the mild climate. The thermal park is open from mid-May to the end of September.

The Merano thermal baths offer visitors numerous offers and packages. New this year is the "athlete package," which includes special massages and baths for relaxation and revitalization after strenuous physical activity. The day ticket "Fitness & Thermal Baths & Sauna," on the other hand, allows the use of the thermal baths, sauna area, and fitness area at a very affordable price. Other offerings include family days and family tickets, as well as (in winter) the combined ticket "Thermal Baths & Skiing."

In the summer, the Merano thermal baths also invite visitors to the successful concert series "Therme Meran Music & More." From June 1 to September 1, various musicians and bands play live on the thermal square every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
