This extensive hike along the southern Stubai Alps, at the end of the picturesque Ridnaun Valley, is an insider's tip for lovers of untouched natural landscapes. The route passes by crystal-clear mountain lakes and offers the possibility to climb the surrounding peaks with an overnight stay in the Grohmann Hut or Teplitzer Hut. Route description
The starting point is the parking lot at the end of the Ridnaun Valley (1,417 m), near the ore processing plant of the former mine. Trail No. 28 leads through the idyllic Lazzacher Valley in a southwesterly direction up to the Moarerbergalm (2,113 m), also known as Poschalm, where a stop is possible. Along the educational mining trail, you reach the junction M 33, which you follow in a northerly direction to the Mittlerer Moarer Egetsee (2,468 m) and further to the Egetjoch (2,693 m).
After a short detour to the left at the junction, route M 33 A leads northwest down to the Hinterer Senner Egetsee (2,647 m) and then to the Vorderen Senner Egetseen (approx. 2,510 m). The path continues downhill, past the picturesque Trüben Lake (2,344 m), until it meets M 33 again. This route leads down to the bridge over the Fernbach (2,118 m), and shortly afterwards you reach the Grohmann Hut (2,254 m) and optionally the Teplitzer Hut.
Descent
For the return journey, take trail No. 9 in an easterly direction downhill to Aglsboden, where there is another opportunity for refreshment. The descent then leads through the impressive Burkhardklamm back to the starting point.
