The Boaslig Bridge is a not too frequented destination for snowshoe hikers in the region of the Mieming Plateau.
The chosen route is also suitable for beginners and takes you on a circular trail through a part of the Mieming Sun Plateau.
The name already reveals it - you can expect many hours of sunshine here, which additionally beautifies the hike in the magnificent nature.
The starting point is in Barwies, where you can park your car on the free parking lot. Right afterwards, you proceed on foot towards the train station "Mini Dampf Tirol” – which claims to be the highest garden railway in Europe. Here, numerous steam locomotives and electric locomotives in miniature format bustle about during the summer season.
We continue northwards and leave the "Kaysers Tirolresort” behind us, after which trail number 13 directs us towards the Boaslig Bridge - further and further into the forest. You will come across a signpost to the Schatzstein. Follow this by leaving the forest road and circumnavigating the rock. Soon you will be back on the forest road – and continue with a slight ascent.
During the hike, you will have to pass a barrier, but then do not take the signposted path to the Boaslig Bridge, but turn left towards "Umkehrplatz”, where you keep to the right and circumnavigate the loop until you finally reach the Boaslig Bridge at an altitude of more than 1,100 meters.
The descent heads southeast towards Kohlgrube. On the way back, you will pass a water reservoir. Follow the descending path further and further. Soon the Untere Stöttel Bridge, which crosses the Judenbach, will appear before you.
You hike along the edge of the forest on the following open area until the end, which is marked by a high seat. Above the Lehnbach, you take romantically overgrown paths to the forest playground and towards the west to the settlement with the houses. The last part runs along the flat Sun Plateau circular trail and eventually brings you back to the starting point of the hike.
For this easy beginner's tour with a difference in altitude of 250 meters, expect a walking time of approximately 3 hours.
