Snowshoe Tour: Frudiger Kopf and Frudigeralm

550 meters of altitude / 3h
The local mountain of Pfunds is known as Frudiger. Families in particular like to come here because the snowshoe trails are also suitable for children's steps.

Also, the avalanche danger here is extremely low - a big plus when traveling with children and beginners.

The starting point once again is a parking lot. In this case, it is the Tscheylücke parking lot. The direction is initially: west. From the forest road, you soon switch to the steep forest path – always upwards.

Once you have reached the forest clearing, keep to the northeast. You will soon come to a hut next to a high-voltage mast – a good point of orientation. Then go westward, always along the fence, to the wooden barn Greider (here we almost cross the 2,000-meter mark).

But of course, it goes even higher. The direction taken is maintained. A short forest section with switchbacks is now on. First, direct your steps northward, then northwestward, until a wide hollow opens up in front of you. Here a signpost tree provides orientation. We opt for the "Frudiger Kopf" and hike over hollows through a small valley. Immediately, it goes over the mountain ridge up to the summit, whose peak is marked by a summit cross. You are now at an altitude of more than 2,100 meters.

Before it goes all the way down again, the next point on the list is the Frudigeralm. From the summit cross, continue (descending) to the flat ground, then in a northeasterly direction, and finally along a fence to the alpine meadows and the hut of the Frudigeralm (just over 2,000 meters altitude).

Subsequently, the way back leads over the steeply sloping meadows, past wooden barns, and finally southwest along a hollow path to the already known hut at the high-voltage mast. The last piece leads along the ascent route back to the parking lot.

As far as the kilometers covered are concerned, the route is not too long. However, the steep climbs add up to 550 meters of altitude. Therefore, this easy route takes a little more than 3 hours of walking time.
