Due to its southern location in the Riepenkar, directly below the massive Olperer (3,476 m), the third highest peak of the Zillertal Alps, visitors to the hut can enjoy the sun all day long. From the Olpererhütte there is a magnificent view across the Schlegeisspeicher to the Zillertal main alpine ridge with the glacier field of the Schlegeiskees and the ice-crowned peaks Hochfeiler (3510 m), Großer Möseler (3473 m), Hoher Weißzint (3371m) as well as Hochferner (3473 m). As a starting point, the Olpererhütte offers something for every taste: As a stage goal on the Zillertal round, as the start of a tour to the highest peak of the Tux Alps, the 3,476 m high Olperer or one of its mighty neighboring peaks, or as the starting or finishing point of the Neumarkter round, a beautiful high mountain trail. Those who stay overnight at 2,389m or just enjoy the day will also appreciate the amenities and the excellent, local cuisine.
