In the field of natural history and mineralogy, the museum boasts some extraordinary collections. These include the most comprehensive fossil collection of the Dolomites with the spectacular discovery of the Ichthyosaurus from Seceda. Additionally, there is a herbarium, a butterfly collection, and preserved local animals. A sculpture collection, including valuable sacred sculptures, and numerous oil paintings document the historical artistry of the valley from the 17th to the 20th century. Other focal points include the only fully preserved Lenten cloth in South Tyrol, 300 years of woodcarving art with an extensive wooden toy collection, and the commemoration of Luis Trenker, the well-known actor and mountain film director. The memorial collection to him, established in 1990, was supplemented in March 2004 by his entire artistic estate, the 'Luis Trenker Central Archive': in addition to items from his personal belongings, documents of his artistic work are presented.
